Jessica Baumer is an Impact founding faculty member and is thrilled to be a part of the Tacoma team at I|CBE! Originally from Germany, Jessica spent a majority of her childhood growing up in Puyallup, WA, and holds a special place in her heart for the Tacoma community. In 2014, Jessica joined a thriving charter network, IDEA public schools. As a founding team member for two primary schools in San Antonio, TX, she started as a Kindergarten teacher, served as Grade Level Lead, Assistant Principal of Instruction, and Principal in Residence. In 2018, Jessica and her family welcomed their first child and decided to return to their home state of WA for her to continue working with charter schools and focus on closing the opportunity gap. For the last two years, Jessica served as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Impact | Puget Sound Elementary and is excited to continue this work in and with Tacoma at I|CBE. Ms. Baumer received her Bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Communications and her Masters in Teaching from Gonzaga University.

Kashia Smith was born and raised in Lacey, WA. Her expertise lies in before- and after-school program development, and student support services through non-profit organizations. She holds a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership and policy studies from the University of Kansas and an undergraduate degree from Washington State University, where she majored in Social Sciences with an emphasis on sociology, comparative ethnic studies, and secondary communications. In her free time, she enjoys photography, music, dancing, crafting, and spending time with loved ones. Kashia values her role within the Impact community and appreciates being a part of a school that believes in the power of increasing scholar achievements and their well-being.
